Pole position for Bellair Karting Event

Just before the ‘Beast from the East’ ground the country to a complete halt, 40 of Scotland’s leading property professionals joined forces for Bellair’s inaugural Karting and Pizza Night at Xtreme Karting in Edinburgh last week.

It was an eventful, entertaining and competitive evening; the outside conditions represented more of a frozen tundra than an early Scottish spring evening, and the snow and ice managed to navigate a path indoors across the track.

The racing itself resembled more Mario Kart than skilled F1 driving and there was a lot of competitive banter on and off track with accusations of bad driving and deliberate foul play.  We couldn’t possibly comment on that but what do you expect with a room full of surveyors competing against each other!

Pre-race favourite, Kenny Brewster of Knight Frank, was our overall event winner beating off fierce competition from Sandy Cameron of Sandy Cameron Property Consultants… there’s a little bit of debate as to whether or not Kenny slowed on the yellow flag for the crash between Colin Finlayson of JLL and myself (Colin Campbell).  The top three was completed by Iain Taylor of Ryden.

Xtreme Karting and Bellair enjoy a long-standing relationship which goes way back to when MD Alistair Campbell supported Xtreme Karting’s first venue at Lochlands Industrial Estate in FalkirkSince then, Bellair have advised Xtreme Karting on the acquisition of a second unit in Edinburgh and we recently helped to complete a re-gear to secure the company’s future growth for a further ten years in the city.

We’d like to thank everyone who came and joined us on the night. It really was a superb night enjoyed by all with lots of mingling, chat and racing. The evening also gave us an opportunity to showcase our very own Bellair sponsored hand-controlled karts to our guests. These bespoke karts are a great success and something we’re really proud of. We’ve designed and built them in partnership with Xtreme Karting to provide a more inclusive racing experience for those who are unable to operate a pedal controlled vehicle.
